The ARFID Centre
Neuroaffirming, developmental, and trauma-informed care that helps individuals and families rebuild trust in eating.
What is The ARFID Centre?
The ARFID Centre is a specialized division within Solasta’s Centre for Eating Disorder Care. We provide compassionate, evidence-based, and multidisciplinary care for children, teens, and adults experiencing Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID).
When Other Supports Haven’t Helped
Have you tried many support services that just aren’t leading to lasting change in you or your child’s eating? You are not alone. Many individuals and families reach out to us after months or years of trying traditional approaches, feeling discouraged and unsure how to help.
The ARFID Centre was created to offer a different kind of care—We consider each client’s age, neurotype, sensory profile, and mental health needs to create individualized and developmentally sensitive treatment plans.
Our Approach
Our work is neuroaffirming, developmental and trauma-informed, and relationship-based. We recognize that eating difficulties are rarely about motivation—they’re often connected to the nervous system, sensory processing, or anxiety.
We focus on:
Creating safety and trust before introducing new foods
Supporting clients’ autonomy and sensory needs
Helping families reduce mealtime conflict and stress
Equipping caregivers with strategies to expand their child’s nutrition
Rebuilding confidence in eating at a pace that feels manageable
Treatment integrates psychological, nutritional, and medical care so clients receive truly holistic support.
Who We Help
We support:
Children and teens with extreme selectivity, fear of eating, or sensory-based avoidance
Adults with long-standing food restriction or anxiety around eating
Parents and caregivers seeking guidance, coaching, and reassurance
Whether your child eats only a few foods, avoids entire textures, or experiences anxiety or nausea at meals, our team can help identify what’s maintaining the struggle and support gradual, meaningful progress.
